Position: Assistant Maintenance Manager
This position is a key support role within the office team, focused on coordinating and overseeing maintenance activities across the company’s fleet and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
•Assist in managing daily maintenance operations for vessels, machinery, and facilities
•Monitor and update maintenance activities using the CMMS (MEX) system for scheduling, tracking, and reporting
•Support the planning and execution of both routine and urgent maintenance work
•Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and assets remain operational
•Work closely with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain adequate stock of spare parts and materials
•Help source and order parts, liaising with suppliers and tracking deliveries
•Track equipment performance and report ongoing faults or repeated issues
•Provide on-site support during maintenance work while ensuring safety procedures are followed
•Prepare basic maintenance reports and assist with procurement documentation
•Carry out additional tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager or supervisor
Requirements
Applicants should have:
•Relevant experience in maintenance operations, ideally in marine, industrial, or heavy equipment sectors
•Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
•Ability to assist with planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance
•Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to coordinate timely repairs
•Knowledge of workplace safety standards and compliance practices
•Experience managing maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and reporting tasks
•Good organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
•Strong communication skills and ability to work with teams, contractors, and crew
•Familiarity with Maintenance Expert (MEX) software and basic computer tools (e.g., Excel, Word)
•A relevant technical qualification or trade certification in engineering, mechanics, or a related field
