Organisation Description
The Northern Island Stevedoring Company Limited (NISCOL) is a limited company specializing in stevedoring, wharfage, and transportation of international cargoes in Luganville, Santo, Vanuatu. NISCOL is jointly owned by SANMA Province (30%), MALAMPA Province (20%), PENAMA Province (20%), TORBA Province (10%), Luganville Municipal Council (10%), and the Vanuatu Government (10%).
Job Description
NISCOL seeks a dynamic and experienced Automotive Workshop Team Leader (Workshop Manager) to join our management team. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role demands strong leadership and a proven track record in creative problem-solving and change management within a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, oversee, and manage daily workshop operations to ensure efficiency and employee performance.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure all vehicles meet functionality and efficiency standards.
- Develop and implement workshop operational policies and procedures.
- Manage workshop budgets, maintain quality standards, and control operational costs.
- Train staff on new technologies, machinery, safety protocols, and workshop procedures.
- Oversee inventory management for tools, parts, and equipment, including ordering supplies as required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, fostering a safe workshop environment.
- Conduct periodic employee performance appraisals.
- Address customer complaints promptly and professionally to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in automotive technologies.
- Ensure all work adheres to industry standards and regulations.
Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role as an Automotive Workshop Manager (minimum 5 years).
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills, capable of managing a diverse team.
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle mechanics and systems.
- Effective conflict resolution and customer management abilities.
- Familiarity with automotive management software.
- Understanding of safety, health, and environmental standards.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Diploma or higher qualification in Automotive Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.
