The Vanuatu Maritime College was established in 1998 as a training institution to provide Maritime and Fisheries training.  Its mandate is to 'provide quality training for seafarers and fishers at all levels to improve employment opportunities in the maritime and fishing industries and enhance safety at sea'.

Job Desctiption:

Applications are invited from suitably experienced and qualified persons for the position of Chief Executive Officer at the Vanuatu Maritime College, Luganville, Santo, Vanuatu.

The Position -
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations and long-term development of the Vanuatu Maritime College.

Selection Criteria:

Essential Selection Criteria.
-  Class One / Foreign Going Certificate of Competency
-  Minimum 10 years relevant experience and exposure
-  Have experience in maritime education and training based on STCW convention
-  Proven ability to develop and manage a large maritime training establishment within
  budget
-  Proven ability to ensure the delivery of relevant training and assessment programs in
  accordance with the internationally accepted standards to satisfy the needs of seafarers
  and fishers employed on domestic and international shipping
-  Ability to prepare, deliver, assess and review competency-based training programs relevant
  to a wide range of maritime subjects
-  Proven management ability with an in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and
  general management best practices
