Position Overview
Iririki Island Resort & Spa is looking for skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chefs to join our kitchen team. Reporting to the Food and Beverage Director, this is a hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about culinary excellence and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes as per recipes and quality standards
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, fryers, and grills
Handle prep work: chopping, portioning, and storing ingredients
Maintain stock levels and restock stations as needed
Follow food safety, storage, and preparation guidelines
Support kitchen operations and assist other chefs as needed
Minimize waste and control food cost effectively.
Selection Criteria
We’re looking for candidates who have:
Previous experience in a similar kitchen role
Knowledge of diverse cooking techniques, methods, and kitchen tools
Good communication and the ability to work under pressure
Strong personal hygiene and grooming standards
A diploma or certification from a culinary school (preferred)
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
