We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to oversee all culinary operations. This leadership role is essential to delivering world-class dining while fostering the growth and training of our talented local kitchen team.
Position Overview
The Executive Chef will be responsible for managing the resort’s kitchen operations, including menu design, food sourcing, quality control, cost management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will bring creativity, innovation, and international expertise to deliver outstanding culinary experiences for our guests while supporting sustainability and local sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Development – Create innovative menus showcasing Vanuatu’s unique flavors while appealing to international guests.
Kitchen Management – Oversee daily operations, staff scheduling, training, and supervision.
Quality Control – Ensure all dishes meet the highest culinary standards.
Ingredient Sourcing – Build relationships with local suppliers and prioritize sustainable products.
Cost Management – Monitor food costs and implement efficient kitchen practices.
Guest Experience – Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure a seamless dining experience.
Leadership – Inspire and mentor the kitchen team, fostering creativity and excellence.
Selection Criteria
10+ years’ proven international experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in luxury resorts, fine dining, or high-end catering.
Expertise in creating exceptional dishes using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
Creative flair with the ability to develop diverse, innovative menus.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
