Ferry Boat Driver

Position Overview
Iririki Island Resort & Spa is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Boat Operator to manage daily ferry operations between Iririki Island and the Port Vila mainland, as well as conduct harbour and sunset cruises when required. This role is guest-facing and requires strong navigational ability, professionalism, and a commitment to safety and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
•Operate ferries and barges safely between Iririki Island Resort and Port Vila wharf
•Conduct harbour, sunset, and special cruises as scheduled
•Provide friendly and engaging commentary to guests during ferry and cruise services
•Ensure safe boarding and disembarkation of passengers and their belongings
•Perform daily cleaning, safety checks, and inspections of ferries, boats, and related facilities
•Check fuel, water, oil levels, and overall vessel condition prior to departures
•Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents, or accidents, completing reports and notifying management promptly
•Identify, address, or report safety risks on vessels and jetty areas
•Advise management on routine servicing and preventative maintenance needs
•Comply with all company policies, marine regulations, environmental standards, health and safety procedures, and emergency protocols

Selection Criteria
•A current and valid maritime license
•At least two (2) years of relevant industry experience
•Ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors
•Strong concentration, technical awareness, and sound decision-making skills
•Effective communication and active listening abilities
•Proven navigation and vessel-handling skills
•Good physical health, including hearing and vision
•Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and holidays
•Strong time management and emergency response capabilities
