Job Description
Position Summary
The Manager Finance and Admin will oversee all financial operations of VAN-PAWA, ensuring strong financial systems, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory and organisational requirements. This role plays a key part in safeguarding VAN-PAWA’s assets, strengthening revenue systems, and supporting strategic decision-making through effective financial leadership.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and supervise the organisation’s financial activities to ensure proper asset protection and smooth financial operations.
•Maintain accurate financial records, including assets, liabilities, transactions, and all accounting books.
•Develop and manage efficient revenue collection systems.
•Monitor income and expenditure, ensuring all payments—including salary and wage disbursements—are made accurately and on time.
•Prepare and analyse management reports, cost statements, and other financial documentation to guide budgeting and cost control.
•Identify operational gaps and address them through financial analysis and recommendations.
•Work closely with the General Manager and Divisional Managers to prepare annual operating and capital budgets.
•Ensure strict adherence to the Board-approved budgets and financial policies.
•Provide strong financial monitoring and reporting for all organisational projects and collaborate with managers on financial matters.
•Define roles and responsibilities for senior finance staff and ensure high performance and accountability.
•Support training and development to strengthen the financial team’s capability.
•Assist in implementing digital financial systems and the enhancement of accounting information systems.
•Contribute to policy development and financial strategies for VAN-PAWA.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
•At least 5 years of experience in financial management, ideally within the utilities or public service sector.
•Strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting standards, and budgeting processes.
•Excellent analytical, organisational, and leadership abilities.
•Proficiency in financial software tools and Microsoft Office applications.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels
Salary
A competitive annual salary ranging from 3,000,000 to 5,000,000 Vatu, based on qualifications and experience.
