Organisation Overview:
Northern Islands Stevedoring Company Limited (NISCOL) is a publicly owned port services company in Vanuatu, with shares held by several provincial governments and the national government. The company is responsible for managing stevedoring operations and the transport of international cargo at the Luganville port in Santo.
Position Summary:
NISCOL is seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Business Development Manager to join its leadership team. This role works closely with the Group CEO and plays a key part in aligning operational activities with executive direction to support long-term business growth and organizational success.
The position carries overall responsibility for driving business development initiatives, improving operational performance, and ensuring sustainable profitability in line with shareholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
•Support the development and execution of corporate strategy and business objectives
•Lead operational planning and ensure accountability across business functions
•Use data and analysis to improve efficiency and decision-making processes
•Oversee logistics and distribution activities to achieve operational excellence
•Maintain accurate reporting of key performance and business metrics
•Promote a strong workplace culture focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement
•Engage effectively with stakeholders including shareholders, board members, staff, and external partners
•Ensure strong corporate governance, ethics, and compliance practices across the organization
Requirements:
•Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
•At least 10 years of senior management experience in a competitive, multicultural business environment
•Strong understanding of business systems, quality management, and operational processes
•Knowledge of workplace safety standards and OSHA compliance
•Experience in corporate governance and implementing organizational procedures
•Ability to deliver training and conduct competency development programs
•Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and strategic planning skills
•Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
•Energetic, adaptable, and results-driven leadership approach
•Strong commitment to company vision, mission, and values
