Handyman (Electrical Skills) at Vanuatu Institute of Technology

Key Responsibilities:  

1. Perform electrical maintenance, installations, and repairs, including wiring, lighting, power outlets, circuit breakers, and electrical panels. 

2. Troubleshoot electrical systems to identify faults and take corrective action.  

3. Carry out routine inspections of electrical installations to ensure compliance with safety standards. 

4. Ensure electrical systems are compliant with local safety regulations and codes.  

5. Assist in the installation of new electrical equipment and machinery as required.  

6. Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and carry out repairs as necessary.  

7. Maintain proper inventory of electrical supplies and tools.  

8. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills: 

1. Proven experience in electrical work, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

2. Knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety protocols.  

3. Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals.  

4. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  

5. Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. 

6. A trade certification or equivalent in electrical work is required.
