The purpose of the college is to be the Centre for the training of farmers and the acquisition of farming technologies and skills for enhancing agriculture production and, in so doing, contributing to Vanuatu's economic and social development.
Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the delivery of courses in the Horticulture section.
Collaborate with the training team to produce and implement the annual business plan.
Use a range of effective teaching strategies and techniques tailored to students' needs and intended lesson outcomes.
Demonstrate flexibility and adapt effectively to student needs, class direction, and unforeseen circumstances.
Ensure a high level of student engagement in the learning process.
Provide assignment and other relevant assessment sheets before the commencement of tasks.
Offer students accurate, meaningful, and regular feedback on outcomes and progress before formal reports.
Maintain and communicate accurate and comprehensive records of students' outcomes.
Use industry knowledge and experience to engage students in learning.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
Post Graduate Certificate or Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related area, including a Certificate IV in Vocational Education and Training.
Minimum of 2 years' experience as the Head of the horticulture section.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Analytical and practical thinker.
Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Strong team-building skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Honest, reliable, committed, punctual, and hardworking.
Proficient in written and oral English or French and Bislama.
Ability to conduct research
Salary: VuV 2.693.000 per annum
