Role Overview
The Human Resource and Administration Officer will support the daily operations of CARE Vanuatu’s Human Resources department. Reporting to the HR Manager, the officer will handle a wide range of administrative and HR tasks to ensure smooth and efficient operations, compliance with labor laws, and adherence to organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and orientation of staff.
Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
Support implementation of HR policies and procedures.
Respond to employee inquiries and provide administrative support.
Ensure compliance with labor laws and organizational policies.
Manage internal HR communications.
Assist with online visa applications.
Organize and maintain HR files and documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Minimum technical diploma and/or vocational training in Business Administration, or 2–3 years relevant HR/Admin experience, preferably with an INGO.
Excellent communication skills in Bislama and good English proficiency.
Strong organizational, time management, and workflow planning skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
Honesty, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Willingness to learn about CARE, gender equality, and women’s empowerment.
Experience managing budgets and/or cash.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
