The Pacific Aviation Safety Office (PASO) is a regional organization dedicated to improving aviation safety and security across the Pacific. We provide oversight services to meet ICAO standards for member states including Vanuatu, PNG, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and more.
About the Position:
We are hiring an IT Officer to provide front-line IT support and guidance across our Port Vila-based office. This full-time contract runs until 30 June 2026, with potential for extension.
You’ll work directly under the Head of Corporate Services, acting as the first point of contact for all IT-related queries and helping build technical capacity throughout the organization.
Note: This role is open to Vanuatu citizens only.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems related to Windows PCs, systems, and servers.
Provide technical guidance to staff and enhance organization-wide IT knowledge.
Monitor and maintain system security, updates, and backups.
Support the implementation of IT policies, upgrades, and procedures.
Assist with risk management and respond to outages as needed.
Selection Criteria:
We’re looking for a candidate with:
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Windows-based PCs or servers,
Tertiary qualification in Business Computing or related field (desirable),
Up-to-date technical knowledge and security awareness,
Strong organizational and time management skills,
Clear communication and problem-solving abilities,
Analytical thinking and proven experience in data management.
