TITLE: Local Project Coordinator
LOCATION: Efate, Vanuatu
COMMENCING: 1st March 2025 or as soon after as possible
DURATION: until 31st December 2025, with possible annual extension thereafter
REMUNERATION: 90,000 vt per month + expenses
PREREQUISITES:
Citizen of Vanuatu and currently resident in Vanuatu
Vanuatu driver’s licence
Completion of secondary schooling
Fluency and literacy in Bislama and English
SKILLS:
Computer literacy – Word, Excel, email and social media
Competence in basic accounting, spreadsheet entry, stocktaking, managing medicine and equipment inventory and re-ordering
Competence in record keeping
Communication skills – ability to liaise with project stakeholders
Understanding of Animal Welfare rules in Vanuatu
Networking skills – ability to liaise with local stakeholders
DUTIES:
Record Keeping:
Maintenance of clinical records
Data gathering for monitoring and evaluation surveys
Maintenance of restricted drugs register
Stocktaking
Financial:
Assistance in preparation of annual project proposal and budget and submission to relevant bodies
Assistance in drafting final project report, including reconciled financial report as supplied by finance manager, and submission to relevant bodies
Assistance in maintaining project accounts
Assisting project’s accountant and treasurer in production of financial reports and ensuring adherence to regulations re financial management of project
Maintenance of financial spreadsheets for daily expenses, data entry, bill filing, recording of financial transactions and acquittal against bank statements
Coordination of accounting and auditing
Reporting and communications:
Production and distribution of programme reports
Ensuring fulfilling of reporting requirements for local authorities
Assistance with preparation of project proposals and budgets and submission to relevant bodies
Provisioning:
Assistance with sourcing and ordering of equipment, drugs and disposables
Assistance with organising shipment of project supplies
Assistance with purchasing of disposables and supplies locally or overseas as required
Ensuring secure storage of equipment, drugs and stock
Ensuring safe and appropriate disposal of hazardous and other waste
Public Awareness:
Understanding of the basics of a public awareness campaign
Coordination of production of materials, translation and delivery of campaign
Assistance in preparation of public awareness materials
Coordination and delivery of community awareness / school education sessions
Coordination:
Ensuring delivery of project activities
Maintenance of Health and Safety standards with respect to workplace, vehicles / transport and accommodation
Networking with government and relevant local organisations
