Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the mechanical and electrical systems of the tugboat.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the tugboat is in optimal condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical or electrical issues that arise.
- Collaborate with the captain and crew to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a marine engineer, preferably with experience on tugboats.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Relevant maritime certifications and licenses.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and be on call as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with modern tugboat technology and systems.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of marine engineering.
- Familiarity with maritime safety regulations and best practices.
