Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Marine Second Engineer to support safe and efficient operation of the vessel’s mechanical systems. You will work alongside the Chief Mechanic on a 50-meter ship, ensuring all machinery operates smoothly while also assisting with repairs and mentoring junior crew.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engine Room Operations
Operate and monitor engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliaries with the Chief Mechanic
Support navigation and docking operations
2. Maintenance & Repairs
Conduct inspections and scheduled maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues
3. Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety procedures and comply with maritime regulations
4. Watchkeeping & Reporting
Share watch duties, monitor systems, and log performance reports
5. Training & Teamwork
Guide the oiler or junior staff
Coordinate maintenance with the Chief Mechanic
6. Other Duties
Assist in deck operations or other ship tasks as needed
Selection Criteria:
Advanced skills in embedded mechanical systems.
Strong troubleshooting ability with onboard machinery.
STCW III/1 Watch Engineer certification (required).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
