Job Description:
We are seeking a dependable, hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our growing island resort. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on responsibility and is ready to fully commit to managing both people and processes in a remote, tropical setting. It requires energy, consistency, and accountability—this is not a holiday job but a rewarding opportunity to lead in paradise.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead daily resort operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences.
Be actively present during guest activities and operations, setting high standards for service and team performance.
Manage the tiki bar and kitchen operations, including stock control, service quality, and food safety compliance.
Oversee tour and accommodation bookings using Cloudbeds and coordinate with travel agents, wholesalers, and direct guests.
Organise and host guest activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, eco-tours, and cultural experiences.
Supervise and support local staff across guest relations, housekeeping, F&B, and maintenance.
Monitor and handle basic island infrastructure, including power, water, and boats.
Ensure compliance with all licenses, permits, and eco-tourism commitments.
Manage budgets, expenses, and operational reports directly for the owner.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Enforce marine sanctuary boundaries and conservation policies.
Act as a brand ambassador, promoting sustainable barefoot luxury travel.
Selection Criteria – Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of resort or hotel management experience, preferably in remote locations.
Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
Ability to manage logistics, inventory, and operational challenges in a remote environment.
Passion for eco-tourism and environmental sustainability.
Knowledge of F&B operations, kitchen management, and hospitality systems.
Experience with OTA systems, such as Cloudbeds, and office software like Excel and Word.
Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Basic technical understanding of island infrastructure (generators, solar, water, septic, boats).
CPR/First Aid certified or willingness to obtain certification.
Ability to obtain a Vanuatu work permit and commit to a minimum 12-month term.
Native or fluent English, both spoken and written.
Preferred: Applications are also welcome from couples with complementary hospitality skills.
