VACANCY NOTICE

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is seeking to recruit a qualified and experienced individual to support the Agricultural Investment for Markets & Nutrition Project. Applications are invited for the following position:

Job Title: Partnership Development Officer (MALAMPA Province)
Annual Salary: VT 2.4–2.6 million
Location: Lakatoro, Malekula
Contract Duration: 4–5 years


Selection Criteria

Educational Background:
A higher-level qualification in agricultural economics, agricultural science, agribusiness, business administration, supply chain management, or another relevant discipline.

Professional Experience:
At least three years of experience in agribusiness and value chain development, including demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate value-chain improvement programs within the agriculture sector.

Farmer Organization Capacity Building:
Prior experience in establishing and strengthening Farmers’ Organizations is an added advantage.

Problem-Solving & Sector Insight:
Must demonstrate a proactive, creative, and practical approach to addressing challenges, along with a strong understanding of the complementary roles of the public and private sectors in rural economic development.

Communication & Digital Skills:
Strong computer skills are essential, as well as excellent written and spoken English.

Awareness of Crosscutting Issues:
Must be knowledgeable and sensitive to gender, youth inclusion, marginalized groups, discrimination issues, and poverty-targeting approaches.
