Job Description:
The Vanuatu Agriculture College (VAC) invites applications from qualified and suitable candidates for the position of Patron (Dorm Dean). This position has become available following the retirement of our long-serving Matron, who has faithfully served VAC since its inception.
The College has noted increasing challenges regarding student discipline and adherence to the Student Code of Conduct within our boarding facilities. We are therefore seeking a strong, responsible male leader with the right character and experience to:
Restore and maintain discipline and order among trainees
Ensure the welfare, health, and overall well-being of boarders
Uphold the College’s standards and values within the dormitory environment
This is a key role in fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive living and learning environment for all trainees.
Selection Criteria:
Applicants should demonstrate the following:
Experience in discipline, order, and student welfare, ideally from the Vanuatu Police Force, Vanuatu Mobile Force, professional security services, or equivalent.
Proven skills in leadership, mentoring, and conflict management.
Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and guardians in Bislama, and proficiency in English or French.
Strong personal qualities such as integrity, honesty, punctuality, and a commitment to the well-being of young people.
Physically fit and willing to work during irregular hours, late shifts, and weekends as needed.
