Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Program Coordinator – Pacific CIRCLE to oversee the successful delivery of a climate resilience project in Vanuatu. This role will focus on project coordination, stakeholder engagement, monitoring, compliance, and reporting to ensure activities are delivered effectively and align with donor and organisational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and manage the implementation of the Pacific CIRCLE project in Vanuatu in line with program guidelines and operational procedures
• Oversee project execution, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure quality outcomes and timely delivery
• Support the planning and implementation of community-based nature-focused climate adaptation activities
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with communities, women’s groups, partners, donors, government agencies, and local stakeholders
• Work closely with regional and international partners to ensure project goals and reporting requirements are achieved
• Ensure procurement, financial, and operational activities comply with donor guidelines and project procedures
• Prepare narrative reports and support financial reporting within project timelines
• Identify, monitor, and address project risks while escalating key issues when necessary
• Ensure project activities align with organisational values, donor compliance requirements, and codes of conduct
• Represent the organisation in meetings, workshops, and forums related to climate adaptation and environmental resilience
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
• Strong understanding of climate adaptation, nature-based solutions, and inclusive community development practices
• Proven experience working with rural communities and women-led initiatives
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience, including collaboration with communities, councils, government bodies, and donors
• Demonstrated project management experience including budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management
• Commitment to gender equality, inclusion, and community empowerment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong communication skills with professional fluency in English and Bislama
Desirable:
• Familiarity with donor-funded development programs and grant compliance requirements
• Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes
• Knowledge of Gender Equity, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) frameworks
Qualifications & Additional Requirements:
• Relevant academic qualification or equivalent professional experience related to project coordination, development, or environmental programs
• Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required
• Ability to complete employment screening requirements
• Must hold valid working rights in Vanuatu
