IsraAID is an Israel-based non-governmental organization founded in 2001. With operations in over 54 countries, IsraAID supports communities affected by crises through urgent aid, recovery assistance, and disaster risk reduction.

Active in Vanuatu since 2015, IsraAID has transitioned from emergency response to long-term development, focusing on WASH, protection, and health and nutrition. The organization emphasizes sustainable, inclusive solutions, hands-on training, and community-led approaches in partnership with local and national stakeholders.

Job Description:

The Project Officer will lead the implementation and strategic development of IsraAID's programs in Vanuatu across key sectors: protection, health and nutrition, and WASH. This role combines field leadership, technical oversight, and cross-sector planning to ensure context-appropriate, sustainable, and impactful programming.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee implementation of multi-sector programs
Contribute to IsraAID’s national strategy
Ensure programs align with the “do-no-harm” approach
Provide technical guidance and operational support
Engage with community leaders, stakeholders, and staff

Selection Criteria:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Health, WASH, Nutrition, Protection)

5+ years’ experience in humanitarian and development work; INGO experience preferred
Strong understanding of Vanuatu’s national priorities in health, WASH, and protection
Experience in community engagement and capacity building
Flexible, resilient, and culturally sensitive
Fluent in English and Bislama
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
