Au Bon Marché is a leading grocery and wholesale company in Vanuatu. We operate a large wholesale division in the Nambatri area, four fully stocked supermarkets located in Nambatu (main outlet), Manples, Freshwota (largest suburb area), and Tassiriki (Korman area), along with four ABM fuel service stations across Nambatu (Paray), Tropical, Manples, and Tassiriki.

Job Description:
We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to oversee and manage the procurement process for Au Bon Marché. You will be responsible for acquiring goods and services at the best price, quality, and delivery time. This role also involves vendor management, inventory oversight, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end purchasing process for the company’s retail and wholesale divisions.
Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive prices and favorable terms.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement guidelines, and Vanuatu regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments for stock management.
Prepare reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.

Selection Criteria:

Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management (retail or wholesale experience preferred).
Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Knowledge of local suppliers and import regulations in Vanuatu is an advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with procurement software.
Strong communication skills in English; Bislama proficiency is preferred.
