Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Pyrolysis Plant Operator to manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our pyrolysis plant. The ideal candidate will bring mechanical engineering expertise and experience in plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure our plant operates safely, efficiently, and within regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Operations & Process Control:

Operate and monitor the Beston pyrolysis plant equipment for optimal performance.

• Adjust process parameters to maintain efficient conversion rates.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
• Record production data and optimize operations as needed.

2. Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs of equipment.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems to avoid downtime.
• Identify and replace faulty components and maintain fuel, water, and air pressure systems.

3. Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:

Diagnose and resolve technical issues impacting efficiency.

• Address mechanical failures, leaks, and electrical faults proactively.
• Support process optimization to enhance fuel recovery and energy efficiency.

4. Safety & Compliance:

Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations.

• Ensure compliance with Vanuatu's environmental laws and international standards.
• Monitor emissions and manage waste by-products responsibly.

5. Installation & Commissioning Assistance:

Assist in the setup and commissioning of the pyrolysis plant.

• Collaborate with the supplier’s technician during installation.
• Train team members on plant operations as needed.

Selection Criteria:

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in plumbing, electrical systems, and mechanical machinery.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial plant operations, maintenance, or pyrolysis/chemical processing.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and thermal processing systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Preferred:

• Experience with waste-to-energy systems or fuel processing plants.
• Certification in boiler operation, industrial machinery, or plant safety compliance.
• Experience in chemical processing, refinery, or waste management.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
