Job Description:
Forney Enterprises is looking for an experienced, certified Senior Quality Assurance Manager to oversee and strengthen the site’s Quality Management System. This position is responsible for ensuring that all food safety processes meet SQF v10 standards, and that any product quality risks are properly identified, managed, and prevented. The role works closely with the production team at every level—from day-to-day operations to management—to ensure that quality remains a core part of the company culture.
Important:
The successful applicant must be willing to relocate to Espiritu Santo.
Selection Criteria
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System (QMS) Development
Assist the QA Director in building, improving, and implementing Quality Systems that meet SQF v10 requirements.
Quality & Compliance
Work closely with Production to maintain high standards of product quality, hygiene, and traceability.
Identify potential issues and escalate them for risk assessment and corrective actions.
Conduct internal audits to verify compliance with SQF standards.
Support external audits with accurate documentation and timely follow-up on corrective actions.
Analyse quality data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
Develop, update, and manage QMS documents within the document control system.
Investigate root causes behind customer complaints or product deviations and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions.
Deliver Food Safety and GMP training across the organisation and reinforce best practices.
Contribute to process improvement projects by preparing experimental plans and interpreting results to guide decisions.
Production Oversight
Assess daily incoming kava quality and provide direction to sorting team leaders.
Ensure hygiene practices and GMP standards are upheld throughout the facility.
Monitor daily product performance against Food Safety requirements, report non-conformances, and track resolutions.
Team Leadership & Safety
Provide supervision, coaching, and ongoing training to team leaders and production supervisors on GMP and Food Safety expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
GFSI qualifications (HACCP, SQF, BRC), with SQF certification strongly preferred.
Lead Food Safety Auditor certification such as Exemplar Global (or equivalent) is an advantage.
Technical Experience
At least 10 years of experience in food quality assurance within a GFSI-accredited organisation, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management role.
Background in powder processing and/or plant-based product manufacturing.
Experience working in export-oriented operations; familiarity with exporting to the USA is a strong asset.
Salary:
