The company began operations in April 1976 under the name Sound Centre and has since expanded into a well-established retailer serving both domestic and travel retail markets through partnerships with trusted and recognised brands.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and supporting the day-to-day sales operations of the store. Key responsibilities include:
•Welcome customers and provide a friendly shopping experience.
•Understand customer requirements and identify suitable products.
•Recommend, select, and assist customers in locating appropriate merchandise.
•Explain product features, advantages, and benefits.
•Demonstrate the correct use and operation of products where required.
•Respond to customer questions about products, store services, and policies.
•Explain warranty terms, product specifications, care instructions, maintenance requirements, and available delivery services.
•Provide customers with information about available financing and leasing options.
•Process cash, cheque, credit card, and other approved payment methods.
•Handle cash accurately and provide the correct change and receipts.
•Package or prepare customer purchases for collection or delivery.
•Count cash, organise payment records, and assist with balancing daily transactions when required.
•Maintain accurate sales and transaction records.
•Process customer special orders.
•Assist with merchandise exchanges in accordance with company procedures.
•Coordinate the processing of product repairs or alterations when necessary.
•Remain alert to potential security concerns and report issues appropriately.
•Arrange and maintain attractive product displays.
•Keep the sales floor and merchandise areas clean, organised, and presentable.
•Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
•Request or requisition additional stock when required.
Selection Criteria
•Education and Experience
•High school diploma or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
•Understanding of customer service practices and procedures.
•Basic knowledge of sales principles and retail operations.
•Familiarity with relevant products, supported by appropriate training.
•Previous experience in retail, sales, or customer service is advantageous.
•Basic understanding of business administration.
