About Us:
Wan Smolbag Theatre is a dynamic, not-for-profit organization working across Vanuatu in youth development, education, health, environment, and governance. For over 30 years, we have used creative tools to engage and inspire communities. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Senior Finance Manager to lead and oversee our finance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead financial management, planning, and budgeting across the organization.
Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly accounts, donor reports, and year-end statements.
Supervise the finance team, ensuring compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
Manage audits, tax filings, payroll, procurement, bank reconciliations, and internal controls.
Maintain accurate budget monitoring, forecasting, and spending analysis for all projects.
Work closely with the Senior Management Team on strategic, operational, and organizational decisions.
Ensure compliance with Vanuatu financial regulations and donor requirements.
Maintain strong relationships with donors, auditors, banks, and relevant government agencies.
Selection Criteria:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum 5 years’ financial management experience, ideally in the NGO or development sector.
Strong knowledge of financial software (MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks).
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience with donor-funded projects and financial reporting (DFAT, MFAT, EU, etc.) is an advantage.
Knowledge of Vanuatu’s tax laws and compliance obligations is desirable.
High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
