Organisation Description: 

The Vanuatu National Provident Fund (VNPF) was established under the Vanuatu National Provident Fund Act [CAP 189] to provide security for workers during their working lives and into retirement.

Job Desctiption:

This position reports to the Board under the General Manager's supervision. This position is responsible for overseeing the Internal Audit Unit and assessing the adequacy of the Fund's internal controls, risk management and governance processes in the fund operations and provide report to the Board and Management.

Selection Criteria:

Qualifications/Experience
• Possess Bachelor Degree or higher in Accounting, Professional Accounting, Finance or other related disciplines;
• Has over 5 years of experience, ideally from the same or similar organization; and
• Preferably has Internal Auditor Certification (Certified Internal Auditor).

Key outcomes
• Develop a thorough understanding of business processes in scope for assigned audits and document the processes in flowcharts and/or process narratives.
• Identify and document inherent risks and controls within the business processes fieldwork.
• Complete Audit and issue reports.
• Perform audit tests and prepare working papers in accordance with professional IIA and audit standards and methodology.
• Develop a risk-based test plan by selecting appropriate audit approach, test procedures and sampling criteria based on professional judgement and departmentally defined internal audit methodology.
• Evaluate the adequacy of process design and the effectiveness of controls in meeting business and control objectives.
• Assist the internal audit team to identify and document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings.
