Job Description – Trade Assistant
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Trade Assistant to join our Maintenance Delivery Team based in Port Vila. This role supports the delivery of both planned preventative and reactive maintenance activities across site operations.

Key Responsibilities
•Assisting with planned preventative and reactive maintenance works on site
•Collecting and handling water samples in accordance with procedures

Performing general site maintenance, including:

•Weed and rubbish removal
•Clearing leaves and debris from ponds
•Testing flow devices and checking irrigation systems
•Inspecting screens, pump alarms, and trickling filter spray patterns
•Monitoring odour fan airflow (normal pressure range: 1.25–2.5 kPa)
•Building and maintaining strong working relationships with customers and clients
•Ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and zero-harm standards
•Logging and documenting all maintenance activities using the works management system
•Working closely with subcontractor delivery partners to ensure maintenance tasks are completed on time and to required standards

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

•Previous experience in facilities or site maintenance
•Experience supporting maintenance delivery on large or complex client sites
•Strong time management skills with the ability to manage both planned and reactive tasks
•A strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
•Ability to work autonomously while also collaborating effectively within a team
•Confidence to ask questions and seek guidance when required
•Broad facilities management or engineering knowledge across diverse building and asset types
•High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills to engage with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
•Excellent coordination and communication skills, with a proactive and adaptable attitude
•Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug test
•Satisfactory Police Clearance
•Current and valid driver’s licence
