Job Description:
Performs a wide variety of welding work ranging from the simple welding of non-carrying metal parts and pieces to moving parts in heavy machinery and structural steel. Most of the work is with iron and steel, but it is necessary to work with all types of metals as the occasion arises.
Additionally, responsibilities include assisting in the dismantling of machinery and equipment and the installation of new machinery and equipment. Work assignments to the welder assistant / team will require technical supervision at all time.
Selection Criteria:
• Must have welding certificate with minimum of 4 years' experience as a professional welder Manager.
• Good knowledge of the tools, techniques and terminology associated with the welding trade, familiarity with structural steel and metal machine parts and appurtenances of the types which may require welding and brazing or cutting and burning in the repair, replacement or installation.
• Ability to do all types of oxyacetylene and electric arc welding, particularly with iron and steel.
• Must be detail oriented, organized & efficient.
• Must be a good leader.
• Analytical, positive and eager.
• Able to work well with a team.
• Able to train and teach others.
